Bingo is a game that has been traditionally played in church halls, bingo halls and community centres for more than a hundred years now. And if you’re going to a bingo hall for the first time you may be wondering what you should wear.

Today, there are also millions of people who play bingo at home – in fact latest figures suggest that over a hundred million players login to bingo sites around the globe on a regular basis. It goes without saying that for those playing bingo at home, there’s no dress code for what you should or shouldn’t wear when you’re playing bingo. Anything goes! All the sites offer round the clock bingo schedules, including the free games, where you don’t pay to play but you still stand to win cash prizes, some of them amazing amounts. At Costa Bingo Free Bingo includes the Costa Crazy game at 10pm on a Friday night where there’s a guaranteed £10,000 jackpot to play for. It’s pretty certain that many of the players taking part in this game will be in a snuggly dressing gown and pyjamas while they’re watching to see if they’ve won this fantastic freebie!

But if you’re going out to play bingo, the good news is that there isn’t really a dress code for most bingo events. It all depends on you, where you’ve been beforehand and where you’re going afterwards.

Many players stop in at a bingo hall on the way home from work. They may play for a couple of hours before heading home, so they’ll often be in their work clothes. If you feel out of place in a suit and tie, you could always slip a pair of jeans and a shirt into your bag and get changed at the office or at the bingo hall before you start playing.

Others will start off a night out at the bingo hall before going on to a club or elsewhere for the rest of the evening. Bingo halls have seen it all – from gaggles of ladies on hen nights through to mixed groups of people who are just there to have a few games before going onto the bars and clubs in the area, so it’s not unusual to see people looking really dressed up and smart.

If you’re going to take the games really seriously – and even if you’re not – a good starting point is to always make sure you are comfortable in what you’re wearing. A true bingo enthusiast will probably have plenty of pockets to carry their spare dabbers so they don’t miss out on marking off the numbers on the cards!

For the average bingo hall, the general advice would be to go with what you want to wear – most people there will have their ‘eyes down’ on their bingo cards and won’t be looking at what you’ve got on!

 Thanks for the guest post!!
