Chanel Beauty House Pop-Up LA

CHANEL hosted a pop-up dream house in the heart of Sunset Boulevard this past Oscar weekend and I was fortunate enough to attend this little house of fashion heaven! An unassuming ‘house nestled between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the CHANEL Beauty House magically appeared for a brief four day stint. With lines stretching for blocks, the famed fashion house garnered many of LA’s stars and fashion-addicts over the course of the weekend.

This year’s theme was how a CHANEL house would look with the help of beauty products littered throughout the house. Each room was painted in the brand’s iconic lipstick shades, like “Rebel in Red”, “Provoke with Pink” and “Dare in Neutral”. As you walked through the beautiful house, each room had a different experience with Chanel cosmetics at your disposable. I was able to try many many shades without even removing my lipstick! In the ‘boudoir’ area, there were a series of iPads with a custom app that would allow you to change your lipstick shade though the iPad…so BRILLIANT! I tried a few shades and settled on “Rose Clair” and “N66” as my two favorites.

Then, there was the famous CHANEL bathroom with monogrammed CC towels and a bathtub full of pearls! How decadent! In this bathroom, it had a magic mirror, where you could write with lipstick and then it would disappear a few seconds after… FASCINATING! The room adjacent to the bathroom was a fabulous photo-op with a swing…. it’s not just any swing, but a pink leather quilted CHANEL SWING hanging from gold chains! How FUN! Other areas of the house, included the Garden area with popsicles to stain our lips a sweet shade of berry and an experience with a makeup artist. The lines were insane, so I skipped the Bar area with a CHANEL Casino, but I’m sure it was meant to be, because, well, I’d probably never leave ! Ha!

So what did I learn from my visit to the CHANEL Beauty House? Just ‘PUT ON RED AND ATTACK’, I guess. Until next time…

Wardrobe: I was going for a Disney x CHANEL x Commie look – hahahahaha! Vintage Chanel suit and jewelry, Lenin shirt from my last trip to London (A Camden-town street vendor, to be specific), boots from a hoochie store on Hollywood Blvd.
