It was the debut collection for Maria Grazia Chiuri for Christian Dior and I would say, she pretty much nailed it. She captured the romance of Dior ( I’m sure her time at Valentino helped her hone that craft) flawlessly and set the stage for Dior to go back to its lovely roots. Previous designer Raf Simons was taking Dior on a tech tour with all of its synthetic fabrics and designs, but Chiuri has softened the look with splashes of feminity that, in my opinion, is quintessentially the French house’s specialty- the perfect French woman’s style. The fencing reference was spectacular since that is one of my favorite sports. I will definitely be looking forward to more of Chiuri’s reign at Dior.
