Hyeres 2011 Design Contest’s Première Vision prize winner, Swiss designer Emilie Melden, really took the cake with her nest ensembles and mountain-frolicking gear. Those ‘nest’ ensembles are made of twigs, which is really a hard feat to shape into clothing.
I’m liking the lady with 5 purses on her chest. I wish I had that for my travels through the airport. That way, I wouldn’t look like a damn bag lady with a 3,857 bags going through security. I mean, one is my snack/lunch bag because I’ll die if I have to eat airplane food. One is for my computer and electronics, one is for makeup, in case I get stranded which usually happens two out of five times. Then, I have a bag for my jewelry because I’m paranoid about TSA stealing my jewels for their evening drag queen show. And finally, I have a pocketbook for my wallet, planner and cell. And if I have my son with me, add another 3 bags for his crap. Uggh…travel season is upon us and think Emilie just gave me a great idea- just strap everything to my damn chest!
