This past month, I was able to check out the incredible Guillermo del Toro exhibit called “At Home with Monsters” at LACMA , boy, was I glad I didn’t miss it! There were unique pieces of rare artwork, props from all his films, including “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “The Orphanage”, and actual artwork by the multi-talented Mr. del Toro. There were so many creepy, gruesome, gothic things that I couldn’t help wonder if he has children living with him! So, the mystery was solved when I found this tidbit of info… he actually has TWO houses… one for him and his family to live in and one just for all his artwork and books and whatnot! WOWIE WOW WOW!
“As a kid, I dreamed of having a house with secret passages and a room where it rained 24 hours a day. The point of being over 40 is to fulfill the desires you’ve been harboring since you were 7.” -Guillermo del Toro
Sounds like my kind of home! I was happily surprised that he is an H.P. Lovecraft fan. He has a life size sculpture of Mr. I AM PROVIDENCE and also an oil painting of his likeness… makes me very proud as a Rhode Islander. Anyway, enjoy the photos and be sure to check out the exhibit at LACMA, which runs to the very last day of November 2016 !
