We have a Holiday season ritual by driving down to Carlsbad, CA, and visiting every end of the year our kids’ favorite park: LEGOLAND. This year we also decided to visit the recently built Legoland Castle Hotel as our two younger sons, Max and Rex, like to think of themselves as fearless knights of the round table. Legoland is only a short 2 ½ hour car ride from Los Angeles, but it can also be reached by air and UBER since San Diego has a charming little airport. Needless to say, there are no excuses not to get down to the magical land of the little bricks.
All year long the Lego team makes sure to turn the park into a unique experience full of Lego characters and multiple activities for the kids. December is the joyful holiday season and the little ones will be delighted by a warm hug from Santa Lego! California days can be a little cold, therefore a warm meal and a hot chocolate from the many restaurants in the park would be perfect to get into the holiday spirit. With the success of its Warner movie franchise, Legoland also has a theatre. One cannot miss the show “Lego City 4D-Officer in Pursuit”. This is a must see exclusive at the Legoland park.
The fun never ends at Legoland between the NinjaGo ride that will turn your kids into Masters of Spinjitsu and the Deep Sea Adventure with a real dive in a real submarine into a giant circular aquarium full of sting rays, exotic fishes and more surprises.
The little ones (under 5) are not forgotten as a newly re-built Lego Duplo Land has been raised in the middle of the park. And coming soon in 2020 is the new Lego Movie “Awesome” World that is almost completed. What a menu for action!
After a full day of excitement, it was a pure delight to experience the pool and the jacuzzi area at the Castle Hotel; just before heading to the feast served at the All -You -Can -Eat buffet in the main restaurant, The Dragon’s Den.
To conclude our stay, we let our kids play in the lavish “Knight and Dragons” theme room while we fell asleep watching a cartoon…a Lego cartoon that is!
Blessings for a Lego rocking 2020 and see you, Legoland, very soon!!
