Meet Miss Mimi- The newest member of my Kitty Entourage!

I bring you Miss Mimi! Here she is – a completely unexpected addition to our cat family. Seriously, it went down like this:

I go to my vet to pick up wet food for my Mr. Marmar, Ms. Darcheen, and Miss Coco and then BAM! I see a white fluffball from the corner of my eye in the back in the cage. So, naturally I mosey along with my nosey nose and take a peek…. and it’s a gorgeous silver point Persian that looks EXACTLY like my dead kitty (he passed 13 years ago) , Felfel. Mr. Felfel was my first cat ever and holds a super special place in my heart because a) he was my first b) he died at the age of 2 from crystals blocking his urinary tract c) he was such a supermodel!

Anywho, my grown ass cried when I saw her in the cage. Even the cat lady vet was giving me the ‘crazy cat lady side eye’. Long story short, after flip flopping with some people before me that wanted to adopt her, I got the kitty in the end. It was a rough day emotionally (yes, you have a cat. no , you don’t have a cat.. wait, yes… etc.) Mimi is about 2-3 years old. We don’t know exactly because some A-hole abandoned her and she’s been living the streets (aka the ho stroll- copyright dlisted.com) ever since. Apparently, she had fleas, matted fur – the whole bit. She got a makeover at the vet and here she is when I first laid eyes on her:

And here she is the next day after a fancy meal and massage.

This is one lucky b*tch! And she knows it…

As for Mr. Marmar, Ms. Darcheen and Miss Coco… they are super gracious and have not hissed at her. They don’t really seem to care there’s a new cat. But Mimi is hissing at the kitty trifecta, so she’s got to recognize swift and check herself. I’m sure they’ll all come around in a few short days. Let me know if you have any advice in introducing a new cat to a household with 3 cats. I would love to hear it- so far, I have only  put vanilla on everyone’s head so they smell alike. It’s been making me crave cookies, though.
