Newcomer Haitian-Italian designer, Stella Jean, made her mark with an homage to Mother Russia with scenic vistas of the motherland mixed with military paraphernalia for a truly original fall collection. For someone who is not Russian, this collection was on point! The collection captured the modest village life intertwined with the martial strength of a country that has recently been the focus of controversial relations within US politics. Putting politics aside, each piece was a beautiful tribute to a country rich with culture and a sweeping span of history. My favorite from the collection was the scissors and needle play on the Soviet flag . After this collection, Stella Jean is most definitely on my radar for one to watch.
