I saw this balloon skirt designed by Janine Trott for Vogue UK on the blog Honestly, WTF? fell in love with it! So cool, but alas, not functional. Whenever I think of hot air balloons, I think of two things: That shady wizard in the ‘Wizard of Oz’ leaving Dorothy’s ass behind and the hot air balloon festival in Michigan (briefly, I was once a child of the midwest). I can’t remember if I’ve ever gone, but I do remember having cheezy hot air balloon stickers with words of encouragement as a child. Anywho, I decided to dig up some stuff with the hot air balloon theme:
Hot Air Balloon necklace by Eleftheria – Really elegant and can look steampunkish…
Paper- Mache Hot Air balloons by Martha Stewart– These are so cool for a birthday party or even just to put in a kid’s room!
Charm- (unknown)-I have no idea who made this or where you can get one. It’s pretty, though. I love the colors.
Skirt from The Terrier & the Lobster blog– So whimsical and original… I bet it’s a vintage fabric.
And of course, this brilliant illustration by Andrea Kett, ‘Hot Hair Balloon’
